Bear Watching
Bear Watching Tours
The Tla-o-qui-aht territory in Clayoquot Sound is home to breath-taking inlets and coastlines that are perfect for viewing wildlife. From early spring to late fall, resident bears venture out of the rainforest to the low tide lines, where they forage along the rocky shorelines for crabs, fish, and anything else they can get their paws on. Departing from the Tofino Marina, our bear-watching tours start with a 20 minute boat ride through the calm and scenic inlets around Meares Island, where you will see plenty more than bears. From seals and harbour porpoises to wolves and eagles, our guides will share their local knowledge of the wildlife and history of Clayoquot Sound.
